Thanks to the Far North Coast Law Society and 12 Wentworth Selborne Chambers for putting on a great Professional Development program at the Ballina RSL recently. Great presenters and interesting topics, all in the name of learning. Of particular interest to our firm, and relevant to a couple of matters on foot, was the “Probate Pot-Pourri” paper presented by Richard Neal (Accredited Specialist in Wills and Estates) and Caroline Sims, Partners of Teece Hodgson & Ward. Law cover’s Claim Prevention Roadshow is always a great presentation in terms of highlighting the shortcomings of those solicitors who have fallen well short of professional expectations – just as you would with a tradie, always check that your solicitor is not only qualified and insured but does not have any disciplinary proceedings recorded against them!
